Web hosting for veterinary practices and vet clinic WordPress websites
Web hosting for veterinary practices has to keep four things working on a phone: the appointment request form, the refill or pharmacy request, the emergency hours banner and the service pages that show your location. NowHosted provides an isolated container per site, a global CDN, daily off-site backups, uptime checks every minute, a WAF and malware scanning. Client and patient records stay in your practice management software while we host the public website around it. Free migration with zero downtime is included, and plans start at 24 USD per month billed yearly.

Keep the path from a worried pet owner to your front desk open
Pet owners search at odd hours and in a hurry. A dog ate something, a cat stopped drinking, a puppy needs shots before boarding. They open the first clinic that loads, check whether you are open, and call or request a visit. A slow page or a dead form sends them to the next result.
The global CDN serves public pages and images close to the visitor. Each site runs in an isolated container, so another customer's traffic does not share your site's application environment. Visit limits are soft and there are no overage fees, which helps when a local news story or a seasonal campaign sends a spike of visitors. That is not unlimited capacity, so describe expected demand when you choose a plan.
Before you run ads or publish a new service page, test the real path on staging. Submit a test request, check which inbox receives it and tap the emergency number on a phone. Repeat after plugin and theme updates. An uptime check every minute tells us when the site stops answering, but it cannot prove that a form email reaches the front desk.
Photo-heavy pages are the usual weight. Team portraits, boarding galleries and before and after surgery stories add up fast. Compress images before upload and check mobile load time. Storage is pooled across your plan, so an image-heavy clinic site should be sized by its media library as well as its visits.
- Keep call, request and emergency buttons visible on mobile pages.
- Test forms before sending paid traffic to a page.
- Use staging to check updates before publishing them.
- Keep daily off-site backups available after a bad update.

Keep client and patient records in your practice software
A public WordPress website should not hold medical records, payment card numbers or detailed treatment histories. Keep those in your practice management software or client portal, with the access controls your practice chooses. Online pharmacy, reminder and telehealth tools are third-party services. Their accounts and availability are separate from NowHosted, even when your site links to them.
Review what your forms actually save. A visit request can collect an owner's name, phone number, pet name, species and a general reason without asking for clinical detail. Check the form plugin's stored entries and notification settings, because saved entries and emailed copies can keep more than you expect.
NowHosted operates the website layer. HTTPS encrypts connections to the site, the WAF filters hostile requests, malware scanning checks site files and isolation separates each site's application environment. Daily off-site backups give you a recovery copy and access roles keep hosting permissions appropriate to each person. A DPA is available on request through [email protected]. The Secure WordPress hosting page explains the hosting controls.
Hosting alone does not satisfy any regulation, and we do not describe it that way. What a clinic must do depends on state rules, the vendors it uses and how staff handle records. Decide which systems hold client data and which only hold marketing pages, and write that down.

Run every location and your marketing agency in one account
A single clinic may need one website. A group often has a main site, a page set per location and a microsite for a service such as dental care, boarding or exotic pets. Business covers up to 3 sites. Agency covers up to 20 sites for multi-clinic groups and for agencies that build websites for many practices. Count the sites you run today and the ones you plan to open, including a staging copy.
On Agency, the owner holds Owner access, the practice manager handles Billing, the marketing agency gets Developer access and a regional manager can hold the Client role. Give each person a role that matches their task instead of sharing one login. Hosting roles control the hosting account only. They do not grant permissions inside your practice software or replace WordPress user roles.
Keep ownership with the practice when an outside agency manages the site. Know who controls the domain and who can approve a migration, and remove agency access when an engagement ends. Our reseller hosting for agencies page explains the account tools for agencies managing separate client sites.
For each clinic, record the domain, the emergency number, the hours and the person who reviews changes. A wrong holiday hours banner costs real visits, so include every location page in the same checklist. Choose North America as the server region for a US clinic. Scale adds SSO and an audit log when a larger group needs central sign-in and a record of account activity.

Veterinary practice hosting plans and what they cost
Choose a plan around the sites you operate and the people managing them. Business suits a single clinic with a main site and a few related sites. Agency fits a group with several clinics or an agency serving veterinary clients. Scale adds room and account controls for a large group.
| Plan | Yearly billing | Monthly billing | Sites | Monthly visits | Fits |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Business | Yearly billing24 USD per month, 288 USD per year | Monthly billing49 USD per month | Sites3 | Monthly visits100k | FitsSingle clinics and small practices |

Visit limits are soft, with no overage fees. Every plan includes free migration, SSL, the WAF, malware scanning, daily off-site backups and staging. Practice management and reminder software subscriptions are separate purchases. Compare billing periods and the full feature list on the WordPress hosting plans page before choosing the plan your practice manager will own.
Move your clinic website with a review before the DNS switch
We create a staging copy of your current WordPress website so you can review it before anything moves. Ask your front desk lead to test the request form, the refill form, click-to-call and the notification emails. Check the mobile menu and each location page as well. Use test information and keep staging out of client communications.
You approve the copy before we switch DNS. The old host keeps serving visitors during the move, which lets us migrate with zero downtime. Keep the existing hosting account available until you confirm the new site and form delivery. The free website migration page explains the process. Tell us about domain email records before the switch so website changes do not interrupt the clinic's email.
NowHosted hosts your clinic's website. We do not host practice management systems such as ezyVet, Cornerstone or Avimark, and moving WordPress does not move patient records. If your team needs remote access to desktop clinic software, choose a separate application hosting provider.
Start with the read-only audit on our homepage if you want to assess the current website. It checks response time, TLS certificate expiry, security headers and cache status without changing the site. It does not inspect client information or certify compliance.
Questions veterinary practices ask
-
The best web hosting for veterinary practices keeps the clinic website fast on phones, the appointment request form delivering and emergency hours visible at all times. Look for isolation, HTTPS, a WAF, daily off-site backups, staging and minute-by-minute uptime checks. NowHosted includes these on managed WordPress hosting, with free migration.
-
NowHosted Business costs 24 USD per month billed yearly, or 288 USD per year, for up to 3 sites. Monthly billing costs 49 USD per month. Agency starts at 74 USD per month billed yearly for up to 20 sites. Practice management software and client reminder subscriptions are separate.
-
Yes. A WordPress form can collect an owner's name, phone number, pet name and a short reason for the visit, then email the front desk. Test delivery after every plugin update, and send anything clinical to your practice management software or client portal instead of storing it in WordPress.
-
Yes. Each clinic can have its own site or page set under one account. Business covers up to 3 sites and Agency covers up to 20, with Owner, Billing, Developer and Client roles. Keep each clinic's address, hours and emergency number consistent across its pages and listings.
-
Not when the domain, URLs and content stay the same and the site stays available. Rankings can still fluctuate. We copy the website to staging for your review and switch DNS after approval, so check redirects, indexing settings and key service pages during that review.
