WP Engine pricing for agencies with 10 to 30 client sites

Published October 27, 2026

WP Engine pricing for agencies is set by capacity tiers of 1, 3, 10 and 30 sites, and the multi-site tier prices sit behind a configurator or a sales call. The 10-site tier includes 100,000 visits and 20 GB, and the 30-site tier includes 400,000 visits and 50 GB, shared across every site. Essential, the entry plan, starts at about 28 USD per month billed yearly. For a 20-site agency, NowHosted Agency costs 149 USD monthly or 888 USD yearly with 600,000 soft visits and 150 GB. Get the WP Engine quote in writing, with overage rates, before you compare.

What WP Engine publishes and what it hides

WP Engine's managed platform page lists capacity tiers rather than agency price points. The published allowances are below. Prices for the multi-site tiers are not shown on the page, which is why agencies usually end up in a configurator or a conversation with sales.

WP Engine tier Sites Visits per month Storage
Single site Sites1 Visits per month25,000 Storage10 GB
Small portfolio SitesUp to 3 Visits per month75,000 Storage15 GB
Agency portfolio SitesUp to 10 Visits per month100,000 Storage20 GB
Large portfolio SitesUp to 30 Visits per month400,000 Storage50 GB

Read the 10-site row closely. Ten sites share 100,000 visits and 20 GB, which averages 10,000 visits and 2 GB per site. One client with a media-heavy site or a busy launch can use most of the pool. WP Engine's page also says taxes and overages may apply at checkout and does not list the overage rates, so treat the quote as incomplete until you have them in writing.

WP Engine does let you transfer sites to a client, which agencies value. That feature appears on its plans, and it is a real point in its favor when clients later want to own their hosting.

How to price a WP Engine quote against your portfolio

Pricing a host for an agency is arithmetic on four numbers. Gather them before you ask for a quote.

  • Sites today and sites signed for the next 12 months, including staging copies you want kept.
  • Combined monthly visits for the busiest month of the last year, not the average.
  • Total disk use including media libraries and backups kept on site.
  • The one client that uses the most of each pool.

Ask WP Engine for the monthly and the yearly price at your tier, the overage rates for visits and storage, and what happens at site 11 or site 31. A tier boundary matters more than the average. An agency at 10 sites is in the 10-site tier, and the next signed client moves it to the 30-site tier. The jump may be small or large, and you cannot know which until you see the quote.

Compare billing terms too. WP Engine advertises a 20 percent saving for annual billing, so the monthly number you see first may assume you pay for a year up front. If your own clients pay month to month, your cash flow needs a monthly option or a margin that covers the annual commitment.

WP Engine against flat plans at 20 client sites

At 20 sites WP Engine puts you in its 30-site tier. The table shows what the alternatives publish for the same portfolio, from vendor plan pages in October 2026.

WP Engine's strengths are brand recognition, a mature agency partner program and transferable sites. It is a sensible pick when your clients ask for it by name or when its quote lands near the other plans. Its weak point for a growing agency is the lack of published multi-site pricing, which makes budgeting harder.

NowHosted Agency is a flat plan for up to 20 sites with a white-label client portal, billing transfer and owner, developer, billing and client roles. Our WP Engine alternatives for agencies article compares it with the other hosts in more detail, and the reseller hosting for agencies page shows the client-facing setup.

Turn the hosting number into a client price

Hosting cost per client is only useful once it sits in a proposal. Divide the plan price by the number of sites, add support time and set a monthly care fee that covers both with margin. When your hosting cost is uncertain because of overages, the fee has to carry a buffer, and clients notice a high fee faster than you notice a thin margin.

A predictable cost makes the quote easier to write. If you draft client proposals often, a tool that can turn a client brief into a finished proposal saves the hour you would spend rebuilding the hosting section each time. Whichever host you pick, state in the proposal what the client's hosting fee covers, who owns the account and what happens to the site if the retainer ends.

Match the plan to the way your agency grows

Stay on WP Engine if clients require it, your quote is competitive at your tier and you have your overage terms on paper. Move when the quote lands well above flat alternatives, when site 11 or site 31 would trigger a big step, or when you cannot get a price in writing.

Choose NowHosted Agency when you want a published price, 20 sites, 150 GB shared storage and no overage fees, with free migration so the move costs you no extra engineering time. Pull the list of your client sites and monthly visits first, because that list decides the answer.

FAQ

  • WP Engine publishes entry pricing, with Essential from about 28 USD per month billed yearly, but its multi-site tiers for 3, 10 and 30 sites show prices only in a configurator or through sales. Expect to request a quote, then compare it with a flat plan such as NowHosted Agency at 888 USD per year.

  • WP Engine sells capacity tiers for 1, 3, 10 and 30 sites. The 10-site tier includes 100,000 monthly visits and 20 GB, and the 30-site tier includes 400,000 visits and 50 GB. Those allowances are shared across all sites in the tier.

  • WP Engine says taxes and overages may apply at checkout, and its plan page does not list the rates. Ask for the visit, storage and bandwidth overage rates in writing before you sign, then model your busiest month against them.

  • It depends on the quote. Kinsta publishes WP 20 at 340 USD monthly or 284 USD billed yearly for 20 sites, while WP Engine's multi-site tiers need a configurator quote. Compare identical site counts, visit allowances and storage, not the headline entry price.

  • NowHosted Agency costs 149 USD monthly or 888 USD per year for up to 20 sites with 600,000 soft visits, 150 GB and no overage fees. Rocket.net, Kinsta and Pressable are the other common options, each priced differently by site count.
